Re:TUI Keyboard Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026. This policy applies to Re:TUI Keyboard, also called Re-TUI-Keys, package `com.dvil.retui.keyboard`.

Short version

  • Re:TUI Keyboard does not have the Android `INTERNET` permission.
  • The app does not send typed text, clipboard text, learned words, settings, diagnostics, or files to a Re:TUI server.
  • The app does not sell user data and does not share user data with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers.

Data processed on device

As an Android keyboard, the app receives text input context from the active text field so it can type, delete, move the cursor, apply smart sentence behavior, and show local suggestions. This processing happens on the device.

  • Typed text: used locally to enter characters, replace the current word with a chosen suggestion, and support optional local word learning.
  • Local dictionary: custom words, frequency, and last-used data may be stored locally for offline suggestions.
  • Clipboard entries: when clipboard auto-save is enabled, copied text may be stored locally while the keyboard is active.
  • Settings: layout, haptics, sound, sizing, theme, background image choice, and launcher theme sync are stored locally.
  • Backups and restores: dictionary or profile files are created or read only when the user chooses a file through Android's file picker.

Permissions and access

  • Vibrate: used only for keyboard tap haptics when enabled.
  • Input method service: required by Android for any installed keyboard.
  • Files selected by the user: used for manual profile or dictionary backup/restore and optional background image selection.

Sharing

Re:TUI Keyboard does not transmit app data to a backend. If the user exports a dictionary/profile backup or shares a selected file outside the app, that file is controlled by the user and by the app or service they share it with.

Retention and deletion

  • Local settings remain until changed, reset, app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
  • Local dictionary words can be removed in the keyboard settings or deleted by clearing app data.
  • Clipboard entries can be cleared in the keyboard and expire based on the configured retention period. The default retention is 30 days.
  • Backup files remain wherever the user saved them and can be deleted by the user from that location.

Security

Data is stored in the Android app sandbox. Android cloud backup and device-transfer extraction are disabled for the app. Because the app has no network permission, it cannot upload app data directly to a Re:TUI service.

Children

Re:TUI Keyboard is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect children's personal data.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the app changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new date.
